How Rektor came to be
The idea for Rektor came to one of us when evenings and nights had started disappearing into building quotes, planning the week's schedule, and making sure customer communication didn't fall through the cracks. Quotes were built in Excel, hours were tracked on paper, and invoices were reconstructed from memory. The trade itself was fine — the operations side was upside down.
We started Rektor to fix that. We didn't want to build a generic project management tool — we wanted software that adapts to you. Every feature in the system grew out of real conversations with real contractors using the app every day.
Our vision
Contractors should know whether a job will turn a profit before the quote is sent — not after. They should be able to keep an eye on their crew and see how a project is progressing in real time. Customers should be able to follow the progress without having to call.
