What is Rektor?

Rektor is an operations management system for contractors and service companies with 1–50 employees. It connects quotes, scheduling, time tracking, and costs into one system — so you always know whether you're making money on each project, in real time.

Why would I want to use Rektor?

Because you want to know the actual profit on every project before it's too late. You price units based on data, not gut feelings. Your employees track their time and you immediately see how the day went. Rektor gives you real-time oversight so you can step in before small issues become big problems.

Is it easy to use?

You don't need to learn how to use Rektor — you can just talk to it. Describe what you need and it handles the rest. No training required.

How do I get started?

If you use DK or Payday for accounting, you can sign up and start a 14-day free trial right away. If you use a different system, book a meeting with us and we'll help get your team onboarded.

Can I get help and support?

We help you with setup and ongoing support. We're based in Iceland and know the contractor market here.

Is the product actively maintained?

Rektor is in active development based on feedback from Icelandic contractors. We regularly release updates and continuously add features that contractors actually need.

Does Rektor track my employees outside of work?

No. Rektor only checks whether employees are within a 200-meter radius of the project location. There is no GPS tracking outside the designated area, except that the location at clock-in and clock-out is recorded. Employee privacy is fully protected.

What languages does the app support?

The dashboard is available in Icelandic, English, Norwegian, Polish, and Russian. The mobile app is available in Icelandic, English, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, and Spanish.

Who is Rektor designed for?

Rektor is built for contractors and service companies with 1–50 employees — electricians, plumbers, carpenters, cleaners, and similar trades. If you started your business because you were good at your trade but now spend too much time on admin and operations, Rektor is for you.

How much does Rektor cost?

The price depends on headcount: from 19.900 kr. per month for 1–4 employees up to 29.900 kr. for 11–20. Every feature is included in every plan and the first 14 days are free. Larger companies get custom pricing.

Does Rektor work if I use neither DK nor Payday?

Yes. You can create units in Rektor or import them from Excel and issue invoices from there. Connecting to DK and Payday eliminates double entry, but isn't required.

How long does it take to get started?

Most send their first offer the same day. Setup is quick, and you can skip it and finish later.

What does an employee see, and what does a manager see?

Employees only use the app: clock in and out, log progress and request time off. Managers see their projects, approve leave and add extra work but see no prices or other people's pay. Owners and admins see everything.

Do I always have to send a quote?

No. If the job is already agreed, internal, or billed by time and materials, create the project directly. It's accepted at once, the customer gets no email, and your crew sees it in the app straight away. Quotes are for jobs the customer should review and approve.

Who owns the data, and what happens if I leave?

Your data is yours. You can export clock-ins as CSV and site diaries as PDF at any time. The subscription is billed monthly and you can cancel whenever you like.
